Atelier Danielle launched in 1997.

Danielle Foster-Herbst is a Santa Fe based designer and custom clothier. Danielle’s timeless, elegant designs evoke a studied nonchalance at ease wherever you are. The assemblage of luxurious textiles: silks, fine menswear woolens, linens & cottons, stripes, plaids combined with kimono silks, obi, saris, lace, prints, necktie silks, jacquards in unorthodox pattern & color combinations form a rich platform for Atelier Danielle’s original designs. Her silhouettes are inspired by both tailored Haberdashery, Asian, Ethnographic & Vintage garment forms, as well as flou couture silhouettes.

Danielle designs for her discerning clients: both women and men on a prêt-a-porter or custom order basis. Danielle sources her materials from contemporary mills, as well as recouping from her trove of exquisite, antique textiles & sundries. Garments are often reversible and made with great attention to fit, silhouette, detail and couture finish. Danielle creates new silhouettes as her clients demand, including a muslin and pattern kept on file for future orders. Every garment is fashioned one at a time by Danielle along with skilled local artisans, who are paid a living wage in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

We will all be demanding more from our garments going forward. Danielle is rising to the challenge to create clothing with style which allows her clients to express their creativity with the confidence that will stand the test of time with ease and elegance.

Danielle studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design in N.Y.C. & Paris. During her earlier career she worked in N.Y.C. & Hong Kong in design & merchandising for major manufacturers before relocating to New Mexico.
